Agricultural by-products

Sustainable resources for agriculture, soil, and energy

Agricultural by-products are valuable organic resources with significant potential for a sustainable circular economy. Whether farmyard manure, digestate or poultry manure, they provide important nutrients, serve as fertiliser, compost or feedstock for anaerobic digestion, and can be used in biogas plants for energy generation.

Through the targeted processing and utilisation of agricultural by-products, natural material cycles can be closed and resources used efficiently. Nutrients are returned to the fields, organic matter improves soil quality and renewable energy is generated at the same time. In this way, modern agriculture is closely linked with sustainable energy production – from the barn directly to the soil or into the energy supply.
