Origin
Potato pulp is generated as a by-product during the production of potato starch. Through pressing, the dry matter content is increased and a homogeneous, further utilisable material is created that can be used without additional processing.
Characteristics
Pressed potato pulp is characterised by its pulp-like consistency, a dry matter content of 20 to 25 percent and a gas yield of around 140 m³ per tonne. The pressing process removes impurities and mineral components from the material, enabling simple and direct use. Its homogeneous structure ensures straightforward handling during further utilisation.
Use
Potato pulp is suitable both as a cost-effective input material for biogas plants and as animal feed in cattle farming. In energy utilisation, it impresses with its direct usability and economic efficiency, while in agriculture it can be used as a nutrient-rich feed component.
