Substrate aggregates & peat substitutes

Due to reduced peat extraction, the substrate and soil industry requires more and more substitutes with similar properties. Peat substitute products are of particular interest to soil-producing companies, as peat extraction in Germany will only be permitted under strict conditions from 2026.

Peat substitutes are all products that are not peat and can be used in the same way and for the same purposes. These include wood fibres, wood lint, coconut products, cocoa shells, ash, products made from renewable raw materials (e.g. wood chips) as well as bark humus and compost.
