We have recently added new bedding products to our portfolio – sunflower husk pellets and granules and forest floor bedding. With these materials, we are broadening our product range and can thus offer even more variety.
The products are natural and renewable raw materials that are particularly suitable as bedding due to their respective properties, whether for horses, cattle or poultry. The top priority is, of course, the feel-good and health factor. But there are other advantages that the bedding materials can offer.
The pellets are made from 100% pure sunflower husks without the addition of binders. In addition, they are QS-certified and are continuously tested for harmful substances. Therefore, they can be used without hesitation in poultry farming as well as in poultry fattening.
The good price-performance ratio speaks for sunflower husk pellets or granulate as an alternative bedding. The amount of bedding needed for breeding is roughly the same as the amount of wood shavings (approx. 5-6 kg per square metre), but sunflower husk bedding is currently cheaper than wood shavings or straw granulate. The material is easily spread with a fertiliser spreader. Another plus: Due to the high methane yield, stable manure with sunflower husks is a very good raw material for biogas plants. In this case, we can offer with the Brüning Group not only to deliver the bedding material, but also to take the manure back and take care of the transport to biogas plants.
Forest floor bedding is obtained from regional forests. The biological mixture of coniferous and hardwood chips is suitable for open stables and boxes, especially for horses. Due to its composting properties, the forest soil destroys ammonia chains and neutralises odours; consequently, it smells more like a forest than like urine. In contrast to straw or wood shavings, forest floor bedding is extremely low in dust due to its basic moisture content and is therefore also suitable for animals prone to allergies. Just as with bedding products made from sunflower husks, the recycling cycle is not yet complete, because after mucking out, the bedding can be optimally used as organic fertiliser.
