BIOMASS FOR BIOGAS

The field of agriculture is becoming increasingly important for us and we are on the way to further expanding this business area – with the aim of establishing an independent unit in the future. At the centre of this expansion is our growing cooperation with agricultural businesses and biogas plants, which will play a key role in the coming months and years.

An important part of our offering is the transport of poultry manure – including dry chicken manure, chicken manure and turkey manure – from farms to biogas plants. There, the manure is used to produce biogas, which is usually converted into electricity and heat on site in combined heat and power (CHP) plants. Some plants in turn process the biogas into biomethane, which is fed into the natural gas grid.

Using poultry manure to generate energy not only offers ecological benefits, but also contributes to the circular economy, as agricultural residues and waste products are sensibly utilised and converted into valuable forms of energy.

In addition to poultry manure, we also offer biomass pellets to biogas plants, in particular sunflower husk pellets. These pellets are another sustainable energy source that contributes to the efficiency and performance of the plants. Their high energy density and environmentally friendly production make them an attractive option for biogas plant operators. We also supply straw to incineration plants, with lower quality straw being favoured for incineration, while higher quality straw is largely supplied to farms as bedding or fodder.

A new addition to our portfolio is the supply of biochar to biogas plants. This development is an important step towards even more efficient and environmentally friendly biogas production. Biochar has impressive effects: It binds released ammonia and reduces its content in the biogas process. This improves the gas yield and makes the microbiology of the process more stable and efficient. The integration of biochar is a sustainable solution to minimise the impact of ammonia and at the same time maximise the yield of biogas plants.

The expansion of the field of agriculture is therefore an integral part of our growth strategy. We are continuously working on further developing our services and offering new, innovative solutions for farms and biogas plants. Because we want to play an active role in shaping the future of sustainable agriculture and energy production and look forward to future developments!
