NEW OFFICE IN ITALY

In May last year, our subsidiary Brüning Italia SRL was founded as a logical step in our expansion and internationalisation strategy. Ongoing globalisation and constantly changing markets require intensive local involvement. We are therefore increasingly focussing on the establishment of subsidiaries and the expansion of our teams in various countries. This enables us to react flexibly to changes in material flows and to serve our customers and suppliers worldwide in the best possible way. As a result, we opened a new office of the Brüning Group in Rome in January 2024.

Our two experienced experts Claudio Bucci and Antonio Jorgensen, who previously worked at our office in Copenhagen, had worked intensively on the search, planning and opening of the office over the past few months. They have now moved to Italy to systematically build up and expand the office and develop the team on site.

Claudio Bucci is the director of the office and is responsible for business development. Antonio Jorgensen manages the office. Claudio Cesaroni was hired in January as an employee in charge of notifications. Kinga Nilsson has been on board since the beginning of February and is responsible for the back office. The team is completed by Cristina Tanasa, who works in the field service.

The new office in Rome will be under the overall responsibility of Matthias Warnke, Head of Waste Wood and Recycling & Waste. He will manage the location from the head office in Bremen and will of course be in constant dialogue with Claudio Bucci about the development of the business. As International Development Manager for Recycling & Waste, Lukas Klapp will closely support Matthias Warnke.

Claudio Bucci explains: “The primary focus of the new office is initially on the sourcing of waste products. We were already able to create a good basis for waste business in Italy from Copenhagen. However, we have now reached a point where we need to be closer to our customers and suppliers. From Rome, we can quickly visit suppliers in northern, central and southern Italy on a weekly basis, establish contacts and, last but not least, check the quality of the waste more thoroughly. By moving to Rome, we will be able to broaden our supplier portfolio more quickly. This will enable us to increase our market share and better meet the high demand for waste in Europe.”

Matthias Warnke adds: “We will gradually develop further product areas of our portfolio in Italy. In addition to trading in commercial waste, we also plan to intensify our activities in waste wood, pellets and fresh wood. This includes the development of new material flows, e.g. waste wood to Austria or fresh wood to Austria, as well as the import of pellets to Italy.”

With the opening of the office, we are sending a clear signal of the Brüning Group’s strong commitment in Italy. The team in Rome, but also in Bremen, is ready to hit the ground running and pursue our objectives with determination. Thanks to the proximity to our local business partners, we are ideally prepared to take on future challenges and seize new opportunities.
