We are delighted that the Brüning Group has been selected to contribute to the ‘Making a difference’ section of the SBP Annual Report. This section of the report features case studies that illustrate the direct impact of the SBP scheme. This highlights the work of different companies and explains why they have chosen to become SBP certified.
The Sustainable Biomass Programme (SBP) is, as the name suggests, a sustainable biomass scheme under which a certification system has been developed for woody biomass, mainly in the form of wood pellets and wood chips, used in industrial, large-scale energy production. The certification ensures that woody biomass comes from legal and sustainable sources, allowing companies in the biomass sector to demonstrate compliance with legal requirements.
The Brüning Group already received its first certification in accordance with SBP regulations in 2020. In the meantime, certificates have been obtained for Brüning Group Germany GmbH as a trader and producer of wood chips and for the companies Bruening Group UK Ltd, Brüning Group Danmark ApS and Brüning Groupe France SAS as traders.
