BRÜNING GROUP AND LEAG PELLETS GMBH PROLONG PARTNERSHIP

The Brüning Group and the LEAG Pellets GmbH have extended their existing cooperation ahead of schedule until 31 December 2027. In doing so, the Bremen-based biomass supplier and the wood pellet producer with new headquarters in Cottbus are sending a clear signal of reliability and long-term partnership in a challenging market environment.

FULL SUPPLY FOR BIOMASS CHP PLANTS

The agreement covers the full supply of the two biomass combined heat and power (CHP) plants in Löbau and Oranienbaum. The contract includes an annual volume of approximately 40,000 tonnes of lutro wood chips, delivered year-round on a weekly basis and in accordance with the sustainability criteria applicable under RED III. The continuous fuel supply provided by Brüning Group ensures that the wood pellet production facilities operated by LEAG in Oranienbaum and Löbau are reliably supplied with process heat at all times.

CONTRACT EXTENSION FOR LONG-TERM PLANNING SECURITY

Both companies cite the shared objective of creating planning security and stability even in turbulent times as the reason for the early contract extension. At the same time, the extension underlines the trusting and cooperative partnership that has linked LEAG Pellets and Brüning Group since 2020. Frank Ledermüller, CEO of LEAG Pellets GmbH, explains: “With Brüning Group, we have a reliable biomass supplier at our side who guarantees a high level of supply security thanks to the strong network and in-house logistics. This allows us to fully focus on our core business.”

The Brüning Group also considers the collaboration a great development. Stephan van Freeden, Team Lead of the Unit Fresh Wood Biomass, states: “We are very pleased about the early contract extension and the trust that LEAG places in us through this partnership and the associated full-supply agreement. Together, we are creating long-term planning security for both companies.” With the contract extension, LEAG Pellets GmbH and Brüning Group reaffirm their shared commitment to security of supply, sustainability, and a long-term-oriented cooperation.
