How did you become part of the Brüning Group?
I received a message on LinkedIn saying that my profile was a 90 per cent match for a job vacancy. When I saw that it was the Brüning Group which I knew to be an up-and-coming company, I applied with just one click – and then forgot all about it until I was invited for an interview a few days later. In the end, I didn’t get the advertised position, but I visited the company a few times and always had really good conversations. The discussions mainly revolved around internationalisation, particularly with a focus on Scandinavia. I knew then that if anyone was right for the job, it was me – and that’s exactly what I wrote to the management.
What do you find most exciting about the market situation?
The past winter! For the first time in my two years with the Brüning Group, we have been experiencing a proper winter. Demand was high, and at the same time the huge surplus of material on the market was finally being reduced. I’ve noticed that customers were actively approaching me – partly due to the weather conditions, of course, but it also shows me that we’re doing a good job. That’s a great form of recognition.
Name your work or life motto to make the day your day.
Nothing is impossible and everything is easier with a smile.
Who or what really surprised you in a positive way at the Brüning Group?
Several things come to mind. Most of all, the many young and agile colleagues – working with them is simply great fun. I also really value the privilege of working in such beautiful office spaces. On top of that, I’m continually impressed by the potential of our CRM system. And not least, it’s a real luxury that we can have lunch in the restaurant downstairs almost free of charge every day.
Which quality do you value most in your colleagues?
What I value most is their expertise. I talk to my customers about all sorts of products – from wood chips and pellets to bark – but I can’t be an expert in every single area myself. In those situations, I know exactly who in the team to turn to, and I always receive support. Of course, the same applies vice versa.
You could compare it to football: we need to score goals to win, but not everyone can be a striker. You also need goalkeepers who’ve got your back and catch the balls that get through. Everyone contributes to our success, and in the end, we win together.
