ECOMONDO 2024: THE FUTURE OF WASTE MANAGEMENT

Proximity to our business partners is a key element of the Brüning Group’s success as an international company – something we recently showcased at Ecomondo in Rimini, one of the largest trade fairs for waste management and circular economy in Europe. Here we were represented this month by a multilingual team from Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Spain, Italy and France – a real highlight! Not only has the Brüning Group become more international, but so has Ecomondo. That’s why we fully utilised the Brüning Group’s greatest strength on site: our team’s diversity! Thanks to our numerous native speakers at the trade fair, we were able to cater to (almost) all nations.

One notable trend we observed at the event was the increasing professionalisation of waste management in Italy. The country is constantly modernising its infrastructure, bringing it more and more into line with the overall European market. In this regard, a key factor is the country’s investment in materials recovery facilities, which significantly raise the calorific value of the waste.

Furthermore, Italy represents a steadily growing market that will gain additional momentum with the upcoming 2025 Jubilee in Rome. The city is expecting approximately 50 million tourists for this occasion – twice as many as in the last jubilee year and ten times as many as in a regular year. Parallel to the increased number of visitors, the amount of waste and thus the availability of waste will also increase massively.

With this in mind, it was a key goal of the Brüning Group to further strengthen and expand our partnerships for the future – a goal that we have not only achieved, but exceeded. Therefore, we are proud to be an integral part of Ecomondo and, in light of next November’s exhibition, we are already excited to be actively shaping the future of the circular economy.
