FROM SUNSHINE TO SNOWFALL

The sun is shining, temperatures are climbing above 20 degrees – thoughts of winter? Nowhere to be found! And yet, it pays to keep an eye on the approaching cold season early on, even while late summer is still showing its very best side. What are we talking about? De-icing salt!

The warmer months are the perfect time to plan your de-icing salt requirements – ensuring you secure the right quantity and quality well before winter sets in. Those who prepare now can stay relaxed when snow and ice turn roads into slippery slopes. A closer look at how de-icing salt works shows why it is indispensable in winter.

HOW DOES DE-ICING SALT WORK?

De-icing salt lowers the freezing point of water. As a result, ice melts more quickly or does not form in the first place. During the winter months, it is therefore used for de-icing and gritting roads, pavements, driveways, and public open spaces, helping to keep them safe and slip-resistant even in low temperatures. In this way, de-icing salt contributes significantly to road safety – all year round and regardless of the weather.

Produced in line with the DIN EN 16811-1:2016 quality standard, our de-icing salt features a high degree of purity and low moisture content, guaranteeing excellent spreading, and storage properties. The available grain size class M combines fine and coarse particles in a well-balanced ratio for optimal thawing performance: coarser grains adhere reliably to compacted snow and provide long-lasting effectiveness, while finer grains spread quickly across icy surfaces to deliver rapid de-icing action.
