BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE

30 years ago, the success story of today’s Brüning Group began with the sole proprietorship Arnd Brüning e. K. in Fischerhude. The originally small garden nursery, which quickly developed into a trading company with products such as soil conditioners, wood residues and wood fuels, continued to grow steadily and the Brüning Gruppe was formed. The growth of the company was accompanied by an increase in the number of employees. The former office became cramped and a new building was erected in Fischerhude. After a short time, an extension followed, as more space was needed. Soon other locations were added, including one in the Überseestadt district of Bremen.

The company continues to grow and also conquers the international markets. In the meantime, the Brüning Gruppe has become the Brüning Group. And once again, the headquarters in Fischerhude are bursting at the seams. After careful consideration, the decision was made to move completely to Bremen and to build a new office building on the Überseeinsel for this purpose.

The big move is planned for June 2023. Around 140 employees from Fischerhude and the current Bremen office will then move into the new headquarters, which will cover an area of around 5,000 m² and offer space for up to 270 employees. The building includes three office levels with four units each, two of which will be sublet.

After the start of construction last year and, as almost everywhere, some pandemic-related challenges, the construction work is progressing very well. Currently, the façade is being closed, window elements are being inserted and clinker bricks are being installed. This will be followed by further interior work with drywall, technical equipment, flooring, partition walls, etc. An environmentally and climate-friendly energy concept (see below, German version only) has also been considered. This includes the use of water from the Weser River for heating and cooling the building.

Matthias Mecking, COO, is already full of anticipation: “We can hardly wait to start a new chapter in the history of Brüning in Bremen. We are also looking forward to the visits from our partners and cordially invite them to join us in Bremen.”
