Two years ago, we were certified under the standards of the Sustainable Biomass Program (SBP). The certificates apply to Brüning Group Germany GmbH as a trader and producer of wood chips. In addition, the companies Bruening Group UK Ltd. and Brüning Group Danmark ApS are now also certified as traders in accordance with the SBP requirements.
Thus, we are represented in the biomass market with three certified companies, a great advantage considering the increased demand due to the shortage of wood fuels in the global market. In particular, the UK and Scandinavia are considered core markets for the use of SBP-certified wood fuels such as wood pellets and wood chips.
With the international expansion of our certification areas, additional certified procurement channels are created, which in turn allows us to offer our customers even more flexibility.
For us, this step is an important signal that we want to set with the Brüning Group, both from a strategic and an environmental point of view. We want to take responsibility in terms of sustainability and legality of material origin – on a completely voluntary basis. With the SBP certification, we guarantee biomass from sustainable sources as well as a traceable flow of goods. The certificate enables us to officially prove compliance with legal international regulations within the framework of objective and external monitoring and to automatically safeguard the entire supply chain. Our aim is to satisfy our customers with a high level of transparency and certified quality.
