WASTE WOOD – NEW FULL SUPPLY CONTRACT

The waste wood unit is proud to announce another full supply contract. This was recently signed between Wernsing Feinkost GmbH, a food manufacturer based in Addrup, and the Brüning Group.

The Wernsing Feinkost GmbH is part of the Wernsing Food Family, which generates an annual turnover of over one billion euros with nine production sites in Germany and other locations throughout Europe. More than 1,200 employees work at the site in Addrup, a village in the municipality of Essen (Oldenburg) in Lower Saxony, making the company one of the most important employers in the region.

In order to be prepared for the future, a new biomass heating plant is to be built. Construction is already starting these days. From the end of the year, the company Wernsing Feinkost will need just over 30,000 t of waste wood per year as fuel to generate heat for its own production at the site in Addrup.

We have already been in permanent exchange with Wernsing Feinkost since 2019. From day one, we have maintained open and transparent communication about the waste wood market, available qualities and various contract models. Through joint visits to existing full-supply partners of the waste wood unit, we have created the trust and the necessary transparency, as a result of which a full-supply contract could be negotiated and now signed.

With the conclusion of this contract, we are expanding our market share in the Emsland and Grafschaft Bentheim region with the Brüning Group to over 250,000 tonnes of waste wood. We are very pleased about this development and of course also look forward to working closely with Wernsing Feinkost in the future.
