THE BRÜNING GROUP AS AN EMPLOYER

In our fast-moving times in an increasingly globalized and digitalized world, the world of work is also changing more and more. This is a major challenge for both employers and employees.

The understanding of work has already changed considerably over the course of the last century. With concepts such as New Work, new forms of work have emerged that are far less entrenched in rigid structures than the traditional forms of work in industrial society. One of the most important achievements is that employees are no longer regarded as mere “working machines” or small cogs in the wheel. The focus is on people – also in our company, because the Brüning Group sees its employees as its most important asset.

As an internationally growing company with several locations, we as an employer strive to create the framework conditions that enable our employees to realize their full potential with great pleasure. According to our company philosophy, daily work should not be a mere means to an end. In addition, over the years we have grown into a company that is characterized by a very special spirit. One of the essential factors is a good working atmosphere in which optimal solutions are advanced and innovations are promoted. This includes a working relationship based on trust coupled with positive communication among each other and constant exchange. The buzzword of recent years – flexibility – has become our motto for the benefit of our employees. Flexible working hours, part-time work or working from a home make it possible to organise working hours in a practical way. Optimal work-life integration is a priority, especially important for parents. Even in difficult time periods such as the summer holidays, we try to support mothers and fathers in reconciling work and family, for example, by offering childcare at two of our locations.

The health of our employees is also important to us. Those who want to keep fit can, for example, take part in the company fitness programme in the Qualitrain network or benefit from the job bike option. In addition, to protect our employees, we offer an annual flu vaccination in cooperation with our company doctor and, during these special times, the possibility of a corona vaccination.

Other benefits such as free drinks and lunch as well as well-equipped workplaces complete the overall package at the Brüning Group. Regular events at the units, company trips, celebrations and parties also provide a change from the daily work routine, strengthen the sense of togetherness and create a positive atmosphere.

But what is the point of all this if potential candidates do not apply? Future employees often do not have the time to compile complete application documents, prefer to avoid the effort and therefore may not apply at all. Or they hesitate because they do not meet the requirements 100%. Here, too, a whole new process of rethinking is taking place. Martina Brüns, responsible for Human Resources Management, explains: “We simplify the application process by filling out different questionnaires, which makes it easier for us to talk to potential applicants. Also new for us, but very promising!”
