LOGISTICS BECOMES EVEN MORE DIGITAL

After the introduction of the TMS (Transport Management System) Soloplan Carlo, which is used to plan and control our own vehicle fleet, our logistics continues to follow the path of digitalisation.

The smartphones of our drivers have recently been equipped with the app inTOUCH, a product developed by the company Soloplan and operated from the TMS. The colleagues now receive their loads in digital form and can process them using checklists.

Why inTOUCH? By using the app, we expected positive effects on administration. This expectation has been fulfilled. In addition to the improvement in data quantity and quality, the billing speed of completed tours has already been significantly increased. The prerequisite for invoicing can be ensured immediately after the completion of a transport, but at the latest within a maximum of 24 hours.

Another advantage is the paperless handling of the entire transport process, which results in considerable savings in paper and postage costs. In addition, all transport documents including photographic material generated by the drivers can be viewed. This also includes the recording of load and empty kilometres for each truck used.

So the introduction of the TMS in combination with inTOUCH is a complete success. Tobias Böder, responsible for sales and fleet at Brüning Logistics, reports: “In May we visited the transport logistic in Munich, the international trade fair for logistics, mobility, IT and supply chain management. Here, in addition to networking, we also took a look at the innovations within the industry. In the course of the digitalisation of Soloplan inTOUCH, we may even consider AI within dispatching in the future.”
