For thermal utilisation

Woody biomass and even waste that is screened out as coarse material or not composted during green waste processing, is referred to as screen oversize. This material is generally used for thermal utilization.

Starting point - composting
Compost oversize is produced during the composting process and we differentiate between two variants.

From green cuttings or organic waste
Compost oversize with a particle size of more than 30 cm occurs when green cuttings are composted. A particle size of more than 20 cm is produced when organic waste is composted.

Green waste treatment
However, when green waste is treated without prior composting a residual fraction normally remains that is either very woody or has a high mineral content.

In biomass power plants
Compost oversize with a high wood content and the smallest possible fine material is suitable for thermal utilization in biomass power plants. The length of the woody material must not exceed a size of between 30 and 150 mm.

In recycled wood power plants
We search for alternative disposal options should the quality of the screen overflow not allow for further utilization in a biomass power plant. Recycled wood power plants or waste incineration plants provide the solution here.

Material sorting required
The type of impurity found in the material eventually determines its final utilization. The presence of additional ingredients - such as glass, foil, plastic or stones - as well as the material having a high mineral content, make it necessary for us to sort the material prior to further utilization.
