Usually in the late morning, the most different food scents gradually make their way through the offices in Fischerhude, as cooking takes place – be it traditional kale, meatballs or fried fish, Mediterranean pasta, ratatouille or feta vegetable casserole, but also pancakes or rice pudding for those with a sweet tooth. And if you don’t feel like having a hot lunch, you can enjoy a delicious salad from the extensive salad buffet. There is a little bit of everything, every day wonderful dishes are waiting to be eaten.

The team around chef Wilko Worthmann, consisting of Sabine, Susanne and Khalid, provides the employees of the Brüning | Group in Fischerhude and Bremen with freshly prepared food every day. The great thing about it: all products are always of organic quality. They come from Brünings Scheune, an organic food store about 100 m away, whose employees, for example, cultivate fruit and vegetables on own fields. In the herb bed in front of the kitchen, rosemary, thyme, mint, laurel and parsley are grown to give the dishes the finishing touch. One or the other dedicated employee has also already done his part and e. g. planted salad.

Only the best for his employees, probably thinks Arnd Brüning, CEO of the Brüning | Group, which has its origins in his former small nursery, with which he dedicated himself to the organic cultivation of fruit, vegetables and plants. He still likes to retreat to his greenhouse as a balance to the hustle and bustle of everyday business life. So it can happen that the next day, for example, huge quantities of cucumbers or strawberries from his own cultivation are waiting for the kitchen and the employees.

That keeps you grounded and doesn’t make you forget how it all began. The employees are also satisfied. Who likes boring canteen food when they can enjoy healthy, freshly prepared organic meals? Full of energy with organic food they can then devote themselves to biomass again.
